964 BACKDATE PROJECTS ARE PROGRESSING
Our 964 Porsche Backdate projects are progressing. For those who are not familiar what is a Backdate, here it is: We take a 1990´s Porsche 964 completely in pieces and modify the chassis and interior to look like early 1970´s Porsche 911. Technically the car is fully overhauled or even rebuild and it typically gets a lot of different performance upgrades depending on customer specification.
Today we had an important day. We had one project chassis (CC2) ready and fully painted after 4 months of intensive work. We took the next, ready dismantled, project car (CC3) to our sheet metal/paint shop and took the CC2 chassis from there back to our main workshop for final assembly.
CC2 is a full "Singer" style 964 C2 backdate with beautiful "Gun Metal Grey" exterior. The interior will be completely new and rebuild to 1970´s 911 retro style by Lakewell. The black / dark brown leather together with tan alcantara, looks great. The 3,6 liter engine is rebuild and has a full Cargraphic exhaust system and a stage 4 performance package. The G50 transmission will be overhauled. The suspension is rebuild and the car will have fully adjustable Bilstein suspension. All maintenance parts have been changed. The wheels are modern 17-inch Fuchs wheels. The old Porsche A/C system will be deleted and replaced with a new electric air conditioning system. There is a strong retro tendency in the whole design. The interior mat material is from the 1950´s 365 Porsche. The seats are like early 1970´s Recaro sport seats. The instrument faces have been modified to follow the visual image of the famous 356/early 911 "Green instruments". There is a long list of other nice details. CC2 assembly project and test drives should be ready for customer delivery in July 2026. The car is fully built according to the unique customer specification.
During the spring our team will have the fascinating job to put this puzzle together to become a high specification dream Porsche, with old classic spirit and looks but with more modern technics and handling.
