On last week, our COO Javier Martinez attended the panel "Charter in Melilla. Opportunity for Spain in the yacht sector", during the second Tourism Forum "Ciudad de Melilla" was held in the Spanish city in the north of Africa.

In this interesting panel we were able to count on the presence of great professionals from this sector such as Natascha Weber from Northrop & Johnson, Marta Iglesias from Camper & Nicholsons International and Giulio Riggio from Fraser Yachts. The panel was moderated and leaded by Luis J. Ayala Navarro of the Puerto de Melilla.

As a summary of what was discussed in the panel, highlight the great opportunity that the Port of Melilla and the Marina Puerto Noray have to be confirmed as a present and future option in the medium term in this important sector.

Intense week of work for our team conciergeyacht.es in the Port of Melilla.

We have been lucky enough to attend our port the famous maxi-catamaran that won The Race 2000, round the world regatta, the Ocean Pearl. Ocean Pearl is a legendary 110ft / 33m maxi-catamaran, formerly known as Club Med, that was launched in 2000 by the Multiplast Yard in Vannes, France. Ocean Pearl is completely made from carbon fibre. Developed by the team of designers of naval architect Giller Ollier, this cat can reach a mid 20s knot cruising speed. She has six cabins and can accommodate twelve, six crew members and six guests.

15 meters sailboat Wings of Desire arrived to Melilla too and was assisted by our team. Wings of Desire is a 45 foot aluminum sailboat built by Garcia Yachts in France.

We have received today in the Port of Melilla to the superyacht Life Saga, a motor yacht with a length of 42.1m. The yacht's builder is Heesen Yachts from Netherlands who delivered superyacht Life Saga in 1994. The superyacht has a beam of 7.6m, a draft of 2.17m and a volume of 318 GT. She is the 73rd-largest yacht built by Heesen.

Up to 12 guests are accommodated on board the superyacht Life Saga, and she also has accommodation for 8 crew members including the captain of Life Saga. The yacht Life Saga has a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure. She is powered by 2 MTU engines, which give her a cruising speed of 15.0 kn and a top speed of 20.0 kn. The yacht has a speed of 15.0 kn. The yacht carries 55,000 liters of fuel on board, and 6,000 liters of water.

But the most important thing about this call is that it is a historic day for the Port of Melilla since today the first nautical charter begins from our port of Melilla.

Thanks to the great effort that the City of Melilla and the Autoridad Portuaria de Melilla have made in the last 5 years to adapt to the charter sector, Melilla is today an exceptional port to start a charter.

Intense and interesting weekend that we have lived in Palma de Mallorca during the celebration of the Palma Boat Show.
