Painting a boom doesn’t have to mean building an expensive temporary tent in the shipyard.

We can bring your boom into our 600m² workshop and paint it in our sterile spray booths, giving us a clean, controlled environment for preparation, spraying and finishing.

Better control over the working conditions, less disruption in the yard and no need for costly tenting around the boom.

A major varnish project, with multiple areas on board being worked on simultaneously, alongside other Absolute Boat Care projects running throughout the shipyards.

Keeping that volume of work moving takes organisation as well as skill: coordinating teams, managing each stage of the process and maintaining the same standard across every project.

It’s also why so much of our work comes from repeat customers who trust us with their yachts year after year.

Fresh varnish on the caprails of Mysorah, with the grain brought through and a deep, even gloss running the full length.

On an area this exposed, consistency matters. The finish has to hold across long runs, corners and changes in profile, with the same depth and clarity throughout.

Back in the workshop, working through the surface preparation before this piece moves on to finishing.

Careful sanding at this stage is about achieving a completely consistent surface, particularly around curves, edges and openings where any variation will show in the final finish.

From a distance it looks straightforward; walk a little closer and you realise there are people working right along the yacht focusing on the part of the project that is required at that time, all working in unison.

That's the reality of a major varnish programme. Large areas, plenty of detail, and a team covering it all together aboard Mysorah.

No two jobs in the workshop are ever the same.

Right now, the team is working across a mix of superyacht components, from extensive fairing and preparation on large removable sections to smaller painted structures and high gloss varnished furniture.

Each one requires a different process, but the principle is the same. Repair what needs repairing, prepare every surface properly, and don’t rush the finish.
