It was quite fun to drive this Taunus for about a kilometer, but that short test drive confirmed that every detail of this car needs renewal in order for it to show its full potential and become a reliable companion for longer journeys. That’s right — the Taunus’ road to a new life began today.

The initial disassembly provided quite a good overview of the car’s overall condition and the amount of work that lies ahead. The body is very solid, but the floor under the driver’s and passenger’s feet needs a fair bit of attention and welding and of course, a complete repaint of the entire car.

I found this sweet 1967 Opel Rekord two door caravan from Finland, so i did the right thing and bought it. She needed little TLC and a good cleaning. Also it got new floor carpet and seat covers. Right now this beautiful piece of German engineering is back on the road and soon for sale.
