🔧 THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE RIGHT JOB 🔧

Just wrapped up a head gasket job on a 2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost 2.3L Turbo — and this one's a perfect example of why cutting corners isn't something we do at Greg's Garage.

Here's what "doing it right" actually looks like on a job like this:

✅ Factory-spec camshaft timing tool kit (see photo) to lock the timing chain exactly in place before the heads go back on — not eyeballing marks
✅ OEM torque specs and the correct torque-to-yield tightening sequence when the head bolts go back down — every bolt, in the right order, to the right spec
✅ Cylinder head sent out and checked at a trusted machine shop for flatness/warpage before it goes back on
✅ Valves and valve stem seals inspected and always replaced/serviced as part of the job — never skipped just because "it's just a head gasket"
✅ The correct OEM-spec oil and coolant for this engine — the wrong fluids can undo all the other work

Any shop can slap a head back on. Not every shop invests in the tools, the data, and the extra steps that guarantee it's done to factory tolerances the first time.

A flashing check engine light usually means a severe misfire that can destroy your catalytic converter in minutes. **Pull over safely, turn off the engine, and call for a tow.** Don't let a small issue turn into a big problem!
