IMO was established in 2009. It is an artist-run space located in a spacious garage in Copenhagen. The space was founded by a group of artists early 2009. The aim was to create a capable bastard that was part gallery, part kunsthalle, part cultural center. IMO is run together with a directing curator and financed by sales, funds, donations and sponsors. The artists present what appeals to them. Th

e diversity of IMO’s artists is reflected in the versatility of our programme. IMO’s activities are not defined by one set of criteria. IMO is by nature multitude and can contradict itself accordingly. Whether what is on show is new or old, art or culture is of little importance. What matters to us is that it is thought-provoking. That it is relevant now. And, above all, that IMO’s hosts and guests get a chance to present their visions earnestly. Adam Cruces was born in 1985 in Houston, Texas, currently based in Zürich, Switzerland. He received his BFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2008 and received his MFA in Visual Arts at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in 2013. His work has recently been shown at Istituto Svizzero di Roma, Milano, IT; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, USA; Kunsthaus Baselland, Basel, CH; Foto 30, Guatemala City, GT.
