Becoming… Exceptional

My name is Dilara – and for me, development starts with an open conversation.
In the Inspire Top Talent Programme, my mentor Tom has been there to support me right from the start, both professionally and personally.

To me, honest dialogue and mutual trust are key elements for successful mentoring. As a mentee, I have learnt to get straight to the point, make bold decisions and remain solution-oriented even in complex situations. What made the biggest impact: being encouraged, challenged and trusted to grow early.

From Tom’s point of view, mentoring is more than passing on knowledge. As a mentor, he encourages diverse thinking, modern ways of working and proactively asks for my perspective as part of a different generation. This open dialogue helps him to reflect on his own routines and receive valuable feedback on his leadership role.

What makes the difference in the end?

Becoming… an Enabler.

From wiper systems to glass: We keep global supply moving, end to end.
I’m Shirin, a Supplier Capacity Manager for exterior components. Together with purchasing, logistics, development, quality and our suppliers, I help ensure that our plants worldwide get the parts they need - from the first project steps to end of series production.

What makes my job special: I don’t just work with figures and forecasts. I regularly visit suppliers on site, to get a first-hand impression of the processes.

Right now, I’m involved in rolling out logistics audit standards across the company. I don’t just apply processes - I help shape and improve them. In times of tight supply, my role also means aligning quickly across different teams and helping coordinate available parts so plants worldwide can keep running.

I’ve been with Mercedes-Benz for almost 29 years. I started in international inbound logistics, supporting plants in South Africa, the USA and Brazil. That perspective shift - from moving parts to safeguarding supplier capacity - still drives me today.

The latest Future Day at the Mercedes-Benz site in Sindelfingen gave pupils and their families the opportunity to explore the world of vocational training and dual study programmes.

During this event, they engaged in inspiring conversations with current apprentices, gained practical insights into their everyday work, and discovered what it truly means to start a career in a global company.

From exploring various tools in technical vocational training to tackling real tasks and learning about exciting career paths, the event offered a unique first-hand experience of the world of work .

Becoming… a Visionary.

I work at Mercedes-Benz in the safety electronics domain for Body & Comfort.
In our Team I am responsible for developing detailed software requirements based on international standards and internal systems.

I work closely with internal project teams, suppliers, certification bodies, product compliance team, and NCAP interfaces to ensure our stated features are correctly implemented and then validated through bench and crash tests.

Leaving my comfort zone, my new department was a great source of encouragement. I took the "baton" from my excellent predecessor, who is an inspiring example for both learning and surpassing.

My new journey began after 15 years of experience as a Functional Safety Expert, because this brand has always stood for innovation and responsibility.

Contributing daily to our pioneering safety-related vehicle technologies through strong teamwork and mutual support is what drives me, and learning never stops here.

Beyond technology, I find my balance in paragliding, painting, skiing, reading, and cooking for friends.
My belief: My commitment to my work and to people shapes a meaningful life.

Becoming… a Mastermind.

Turning vision into something you can see, touch and feel – every single day.

I’m Dennis, Project Lead for the S Class Interior Development. I coordinate the development of all interior changes for the new S Class and upcoming model years, working closely with teams from development, quality, production and sales. My role sits right at the center of the vehicle project, where decisions shape what customers experience every day.

My journey started as an intern working on additive manufacturing in production. From there, I moved into project coordination for the new S Class, before taking over full responsibility for the interior. Each step brought me closer to what motivates me most: leading complex development topics and bringing teams together to deliver outstanding results.

One highlight stands out. We introduced the heated belt system for the facelift, including all its interfaces. Making the interior not only look premium but also feel premium for the customer – that’s what drives me. Seeing this feature reach series production on time was a powerful moment.

What I value most? The chance to grow. Mercedes Benz offers a wide range of learning opportunities – from technical standards to leadership skills – so you can continuously broaden your horizon. If you stay open and curious, you can really shape your own path here.

Becoming… a Team Player.

My first day at Mercedes Benz is still very clear in my mind. I was struck by the scale of the site and the advanced technology all around me. That was the moment I realised I was part of something big.

My name is Henry, and I work as an automotive mechatronics technician specialising in systems and high-voltage technology. I am part of the engine integration centre and the battery workshop, working directly on development vehicles. My daily work includes building and modifying development engines with measurement technology and supporting the analysis of high voltage batteries. This helps ensure that new technologies are ready for future vehicles.

One highlight for me was my first test drive in a development vehicle, more specifically a GLS. That experience showed me how close my work is to the final product. I am proud to contribute to technologies that shape the future of mobility and to work in a team that develops and improves innovations every day.

My journey started with an apprenticeship at Mercedes Benz. After completing my training, I joined the development area. Continuous training in vehicle technology and high voltage systems helps me grow and take on more responsibility. And after work, football gives me the balance I need.
