1989 marked the start of the BMW International Open in Munich, which has been one of the most important and popular events on the DP World Tour ever since, as well as the start of BMW's involvement in professional golf. BMW’s long-term commitment to the DP World Tour also includes the Tour's Flagship event, BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club. In the USA, BMW stages one of the most important pl

ay-off tournaments on the PGA TOUR, in the BMW Championship. In addition, the company also supports the sport of golf with over 20 "Official Car" partnerships, the BMW Ladies Championship in Korea, and the organisation of the world's largest amateur series – the BMW Golf Cup. In 2021, BMW was Worldwide Partner of the Ryder Cup for the first time, and BMW will continue in this role when Marco Simone Golf & Country Club (Rome, Italy) hosts the Ryder Cup in 2023.
