This isn’t just a philosophy, it’s my daily drive.
I live by a simple rule: old metal deserves new life. Classic cars? They’re not just nostalgia on wheels, they’re pure, unfiltered fun. The way they connect you to the road, the raw mechanical soul, the fact they cost a fraction to run compared to today’s tech-packed machines… that’s the real magic.
And here’s the truth nobody at the dealership wants you to hear: buying a car that’s just a few years old is almost always the smarter move. The moment a new car leaves the lot, it sheds value like a snake shedding skin. That massive depreciation hit? You’re paying for it. Meanwhile, a well-maintained three-year-old car still has decades of life left—and you’re not financing someone else’s showroom dream.
Don’t get me wrong, I love new cars. I’ll gladly take a modern beast out for a spin. But I draw the line at scrapping a legend just because no one wants to turn a wrench anymore. Or throwing money at new metal while perfectly good used metal sits waiting for love. We don’t need more landfill fodder. We need more people willing to keep the torque alive and the money in their own pockets.
So here’s what I do: I keep ‘em running. Every carbureted heartbeat. Every manual shift. Every rust-flecked body that still begs for the open road, and every gently used gem that deserves a second chapter.
Keep old iron on the asphalt. And buy smart. 🚘💸💪
