A few more pictures of this very BSA split gas tank since I’ve taken so many and still find it quite interesting to share.

The slides show the steps of the tunnel/inside of the steel part. It was a bit of a struggle to get everything fitted to each other, but this is what one offs and prototypes challenge every time.

Slide 11 shows the the simplicity you need sometimes. Not over complicating things and being able to get work done without scanning, 3d modeling and such.
You wouldn’t need a fancy welding table tho.

Powerhammering a small patch panel for a chopper gas tank.

A while ago I had a simple yet not easy job.
Making aluminum gussets for an Alfa Romeo trunk, for additional stiffness.

Center panel needed to be straight with a curved backbone.
Side panels needed to be formed around the wheel well and gas tank, which is quite tricky.

Parts like this look easier than they are to execute, but fun to make for sure.

Modification of a V-Twin kicker kit for a HD Sportster.
Pretty much basic tools, patience and and visualizing what it can look like.

I used a 4 speed gasket as a layout guide and adapted it to the existing shape of the billet cover.

Ask, please, if you have any questions!!

Drilling holes, sinking for bolts' heads and cutting threads.
This modification is only for the looks, so it's fake bolts for sure.

Trusty old band saw never disappoints.

Hand milling off material to achieve deeper shapes and rough sanding to even it out.

One of the most underrated but very necessary parts is and will ever be hand filing.
It's the mix of accuracy for edges and radii but still being able to adjust and creating a perfect straight surface.

Handmade one of a kind for the win.

I then had the idea to nail the recessed areas for the casting look.

Unfortunately the customer didn't like it and I had to grind it out... still will I finish this post as nothing happened. 😅
