European Time Attack Masters race in Nürburgring. Got some good testing in dry cold, wet and damp conditions. In quali with slicks finally thought we can get a decent lap in this track, but just after passing some traffic and thinking going for fast lap things got a bit too heated. Had to engage fire suppressions system and ended up parking inside track barriers. Fire didn’t go off and for a short moment thought the car will burn completely. Also car got full of black smoke and could not breath had to get really quick out, was never so scared inside a car before. Now we need some cleaning and checking what really happened, but from data logs engine ran without trouble, but started losing oil pressure towards end I suspect oil leak from return line to exhaust and even we have lot of heat shielding, protection etc these tight packages get hot and when there’s oil and enough heat there is fire. Fire was under the car on passenger side where the oil lines from pump go out to heat exchanger and to tank. We will post later a video in our YouTube channel.
