Auf dem Wasser ein Team. An diesem Abend an einem Tisch. ⚓

Wenn unsere Schlepper im Hafen im Einsatz sind, arbeiten unsere Kapitäne und die Lotsen eng zusammen. Man kennt die Abläufe, verlässt sich aufeinander und trägt gemeinsam Verantwortung dafür, dass Schiffe sicher durch den Hafen kommen.
Umso schöner ist es, sich auch einmal ohne Zeitdruck zu begegnen.

Rund 30 Lotsen und Schlepperkapitäne haben wir auf der Cap San Diego an einen Tisch gebracht. Bei gutem Essen wurde gefachsimpelt, erzählt und gelacht: über die Arbeit auf dem Wasser, besondere Manöver und natürlich über alles, was einen sonst noch so verbindet. Ganz unkompliziert, persönlich und unter Seeleuten.

🚢 Denn bei aller Technik, Erfahrung und Präzision sind es am Ende die Menschen, die unsere Häfen am Laufen halten.

Genau deshalb ist uns dieser Abend so wichtig. Wer täglich eng zusammenarbeitet und sich aufeinander verlassen muss, sollte sich auch persönlich kennen.
Inzwischen ist unser Kapitän-Lotsen-Essen schon eine kleine Tradition: Zum dritten Mal in Folge sind wir in dieser Runde zusammengekommen.

Danke an alle, die dabei waren. Solche Abende zeigen, was unsere maritime Gemeinschaft im Norden ausmacht: kurze Wege, klare Worte und ein gutes Miteinander. ⚓

Und nächstes Jahr? Da drehen wir den Spieß um und freuen uns schon darauf, bei den Lotsen zu Gast zu sein!

On the water, one team. On this evening, one table. ⚓

Every day, our tug captains and the pilots work hand in hand to bring ships safely through the port. That made it even better to meet without any time pressure.

We brought around 30 pilots and tug captains together on board the Cap San Diego for good food, shop talk and plenty of laughs. Our captain-pilot dinner has become a small tradition: this was the third year in a row.

Thank you to everyone who joined us! Next year we'll turn the tables and look forward to being the pilots' guests. 🚢

⚓ Six new tugs for our fleet: contract signed with Sanmar Shipyards

Last Week, we signed a contract with Sanmar Shipyards for the construction of six new tugs: two offshore tugs and four harbor/terminal tugs. They will be built at Sanmar's yards in Türkiye, based on designs by Robert Allan Ltd., and will strengthen our fleet in the future.

🚢 From 6,390 hp and at least 80 tonnes of bollard pull
🚢 Up to 10,580 hp and at least 120 tonnes of bollard pull for the most powerful unit

All six tugs will meet IMO Tier III emission standards. Thanks to their ice-class rating, they will be able to assist LNG carriers, even in winter.

“Our ambition is to provide our customers with the highest levels of performance, reliability and state-of-the-art technology – not only today, but also in the years ahead. That is why we have deliberately chosen vessels that represent the very forefront of tug technology currently available on the market.”

The first harbor tug is due for handover in mid-2027 and the rest of the harbor tugs will follow by the end of 2027. The offshore tugs are due to enter service in the first half of 2028.

⚓️ Effective immediately, Anke Schurig has been granted power of attorney for all German companies within the FAIRPLAY Towage Group.

Anke has been part of FAIRPLAY for nearly 18 years. She began her career with us in the crewing department. For more than four years now, Anke has focused her work on fleet management and is currently responsible for all flag and insurance matters—an area that requires a great deal of experience, precision, and a deep understanding of our fleet and our business.

Anke is the first female authorized signatory at FAIRPLAY. With the granting of this authority, Anke is now taking on even more responsibility within the FAIRPLAY Towage Group.

Anke’s journey at FAIRPLAY is a prime example of this—she has grown over nearly 18 years, gaining experience, expertise, and responsibility.
