A commissioned violin is much more than an instrument, it becomes part of a musician’s life and story.
Many people dream of owning a violin that truly fits them, but often don’t know how the process actually works or they don‘t really know what they are looking for and want.
The good news: commissioning a violin is a personal and collaborative journey and you don’t need to be an expert to begin.
When working on a custom instrument together, we start with conversations:
What sound do you love?
What kind of music do you play?
How should the instrument feel in your hands?
From there, we carefully select the tonewoods together, discuss every detail, and throughout the making process you can follow the journey of your violin from the very first pieces of wood to the finished instrument.
My goal is always the same:
To create a violin that inspires an instrument that grows with you musically and emotionally.
Thank you, Peter, for your trust and your beautiful words.
Stories like yours are exactly why I love building violins. 🤍
Peter sent me this snippet from playing on the violin I made for his son, it was pure joy to hear it at the Münchner Geigentage.
