With a total volume of €220 million, Germany is once again investing in hydrogen trucks and hydrogen filling stations.

👉 Among other things, funding will be provided for:
✅ Public hydrogen filling stations (up to 50% of eligible expenses)
✅ New N2 & N3 class hydrogen trucks (up to 80% of additional investment costs compared to diesel vehicles)

Giant news: pepper goes India! 🇮🇳

We plan the world's largest production of zero-emission buses and trucks as well as battery systems outside China. The approved investment project of pepper and industrial partners with the state government of Andhra Pradesh sets new international standards. The investment project, including all planned expansion stages, has a total volume of around 600 million US dollars.

We especially thank Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for his visionary policies and for creating a conducive environment for new mobility companies to set up operations in Andhra Pradesh.

Happy visitors and sunny weather at the BAX test days in Austria last week! ☀

Various business owners came to see and testdrive the electric truck at our pepper HQ Austria in Korneuburg near Vienna and at BPW Bergische Achsen's branch at Fahrzeugbedarf Kotz & Co. KG in Seewalchen in Upper Austria.

Our guests were impressed by what a difference an electrically driven 7.5 t truck makes! A range of 200 kilometers, massive 3 tons payload, and body variability to the customer’s need - this is what the BAX is all about. The BAX has also proved overland: We drove the whole distance of more than a 1000 km on its own axle!

As of December 1, 2023, CO2 emissions from vehicles will be charged extra within the framework of the truck toll. Zero-emission vehicles will be completely exempt until the end of 2025 and will then be priced at only 25% of the regular rate, creating huge cost reduction potential for fleet operators.

Another breaking news - we have a new key supplier!

The hydrogen version of our pepper electrification kit will feature a fuel cell from Toyota. The fuel cell is characterized by its compact design and robustness and has been used in various applications including non-automotive, thus proving its quality in real-world applications.

pepper and BPW have entered a strategic partnership!

With BPW Bergische Achsen KG, the mobility and systems partner of vehicle operators and manufacturers, a future collaboration is planned in the areas of telematics and digital services, spare parts procurement, and electrification solutions relating to trailers.
As part of the agreement, we are expanding our product portfolio with the 7.5-ton "BAX" electric truck developed by BPW. This means, from now on the is available with us!

Last week members from BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN visited our HQ in Denkendorf again, this time from Upper Franconia, namely from Grüne Bayreuth-Stadt and Bamberg.
After a walk through the prototyping halls we had a fruitful discussion about the future of mobility in the field commercial vehicles and what retrofitting may contribute. After that, we of course took our guests for a ride, because no visit at pepper is complete without a test drive in one of our converted electric buses.
