When you look purely at numbers on paper, the Smart Roadster Brabus (452) with its 101 hp 0.7L turbo engine might sound modest. But at just 820 kg, its power-to-weight ratio of 123.2 hp/tonne lands it right in the sweet spot of classic and modern driver's cars.

Because of its ultra-light chassis, the Brabus matches 1.8L naturally aspirated roadsters like the MG TF 135 and Fiat Barchetta, out-punches entry-level MX-5s and Z3s, and stays surprisingly close to classic transaxle coupes like the Porsche 944.
