Buying used cars is my job and here are the questions I ask before I buy a car.

A car rarely goes up for sale at a random moment. Usually it's right before the next bill: timing belt, brakes, inspection. That's not a scam — that's just when people sell.

The bill doesn't disappear, though. It moves to whoever buys next. You buy the car, you take it for inspection, and the inspection tells you what the seller already knew.

So this is how I look at a car before it ever reaches our lot:
— Damage history. Not "it looks clean" — documented, or not.
— Previous owners. Two is a story. Six is a warning.
— Service book. Stamps, invoices, dates. No gaps.
— Timing belt. Changed — or am I the one changing it?
— Country of registration. A German car in Luxembourg isn't a problem. A car with no history is. People confuse those two constantly.
If five years are missing from the service book, I don't care how clean the paint is. I don't buy it. Because whatever I miss, you're the one who finds it.
By the time a car is standing on our lot, it's had a fresh inspection and a service. The goal is simple: for the next ten thousand kilometres you do nothing. You drive.

Which one of these do you check first?

Moselaue 15, Perl — ten minutes from Luxembourg.
