This Episode of the WeekendDrive is from Julian, who works in our social media department. He took the car to Essen, where he made stops at the Castle Borbeck and the Hafenstrasse, the stadium of Rot-Weiß Essen. The weekends with our cars don’t have to follow any script, some roads lead to scenery, some lead to the stadium, and this one had both.
That is what the WeekendDrive is about: our cars in the memories of the people driving them.

Diese Episode des WeekendDrives ist von Julian, der in unserer Social-Media-Abteilung arbeitet. Er fuhr mit dem Auto nach Essen, wo er am Schloss Borbeck und an der Hafenstraße, dem Stadion von Rot-Weiß Essen, Halt machte. Die Wochenenden mit unseren Autos müssen keinem Script folgen. Manche Straßen führen zu schönen Landschaften, manche zum Stadion, und dieses Mal gab es beides.

Which car would you pick for your last sundown ride?

Our Frosch and 1802 standing side by side, catching the last rays of the sun. There is this peaceful feeling about this hour, the sun is down low, engine noise and the traffic already quieted down considerably. No destination and reason needed to enjoy the peaceful hours.

Unser Frosch und der 1802 stehen nebeneinander und fangen die letzten Sonnenstrahlen ein. Diese Stunde strahlt eine ganz besondere Ruhe aus: Die Sonne steht tief am Himmel, Motorengeräusche und Verkehr sind fast verstummt. Man braucht weder ein Ziel noch einen Grund, um diese friedlichen Stunden zu genießen.

Does your classic only get the good stuff?
No regular, no excuses, our Frosch gets premium every time. An engine this old deserves fuel that treats it right.
For us, some habits aren’t up for debate.
What about your classics? Do they also only get premium?

🇩🇪Bekommt euer Klassiker auch nur das Beste?
Kein Normalbenzin, keine Ausreden, unser Frosch kriegt immer nur Super Plus. So ein alter Motor verdient eben Sprit der ihn pflegt.
Für uns stehen manche Gewohnheiten nun mal nicht zur Diskussion.

Our warehouse isn’t just shelves and parts.
Two doors with artistic touch, a cutaway engine, a couple of rear ends mounted on the wall, some rims, an original Continental Wheels sign and a genuine BMW electronic center sign. That’s just some of the stuff that hangs around here.
None of it is for sale. It’s just the consequence of spending too much time around these cars.

🇩🇪Unser L***r sind nicht nur Regale und Teile.
Zwei künstlerisch gestaltete Türen, ein Schnittmodell eines Motors, ein paar Heckbleche an der Wand, ein paar Felgen, ein originales Continental Reifen-Schild und ein echtes BMW electronic center-Schild.
Solch eine Deko ist die Folge davon, dass man zu viel Zeit mit den Autos verbracht hat. Nichts davon steht zum Verkauf.

Sometimes it just doesn’t work as planned.
Another snippet of the WeekendDrive and today’s driver was Melanie from our Accounting Department. Just like Ute, she had planned Destinations and wanted to do many things but sometimes the world just plays against your plans. She had a fun weekend with a birthday she attended and enjoyed her time. We still wanted to give you some impression of her WeekendDrive. Next time when she borrows the car, it will for sure go as planned.

Manchmal läuft nicht alles wie geplant
Ein weiterer Ausschnitt vom WeekendDrive und die heutige Fahrerin war Melanie aus unserer Buchhaltung. Genau so wie Ute, hatte sie sich Ziele raus gesucht und wollte viel unternehmen, aber manchmal spielt einem nicht alles in die Karten. Sie hatte ein schönes Wochenende mit einer Geburtstagsfeier und hat ihre Zeit genossen. Wir wollten euch wenigstens etwas von ihrem WeekendDrive zeigen. Beim nächsten mal wenn sie sich das Auto ausleiht, verläuft bestimmt alles nach Plan.

Manche Autos verraten ihr Alter schon durch ihr Aussehen. Die Form der Stoßstange, der Kühlergrill oder das Design des Emblems. Bei diesem hier muss man etwas länger rätseln, vielleicht gefällt er uns gerade deshalb so gut.

First WeekendDrive is in the books and it is exactly what we hoped it would be.
Ute, who works in our Accounting Department, took the Z3 out for her weekend and took her daughter along on the adventure. First stop, the Lake Möhnesee, a location where seemingly all roads lead you to, especially on warm summer days. Sun reflecting on the water and an ice cream on the way back. What else do you need?
This is exactly what the Weekend Drive is about: our cars out on the streets and our employees enjoying their weekend.
Ute's conclusion: "Absolute driving pleasure"

Der erste WeekendDrive ist zu Ende und er ist genau so wie wir ihn uns erhofft haben.
Ute, aus unserer Buchhaltung, hat den Z3 für das Abenteuer mitgenommen. Erster Halt, der Möhnesee, ein Ziel, zu dem an warmen Sommertagen gefühlt alle Straßen hinführen. Die reflektierende Sonne auf dem Wasser und ein Eis auf dem Rückweg. Was braucht man mehr?

Dieser 1802 ist das Privatfahrzeug von unserem Firmenmitgründer Alexander. Er hat das Auto von Grund auf neu aufgebaut und besitzt das Auto schon Jahrzehnte lang. Man sieht eindeutig wie sehr es geliebt wird. Alles an dem Auto zeigt die Sorgfalt und die Leidenschaft, die wir hier für Oldtimer haben.
