It’s official, Curaçao’s got a new currency! Beginning March 31, 2025 the island will use Caribbean Guilder (Cg) and phase out the current Antillean Guilder (ANG). This new vibrant, island-inspired, and “World Under the Sea” themed currency consists of 5 bank notes and 7 coins and will be used in both Curaçao and Sint Maarten as part of a new monetary union.

The island continues to blossom in every way, even down to the currency.

Important dates to note moving forward:

March 31, 2025 – The Caribbean Guilder enters circulation. The ANG and the Cg will co-circulate in Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
June 30, 2025 – Last date to make cash payments with ANG.
March 31, 2026 – Last date to exchange ANG at commercial banks.
March 31, 2055 – Last date to exchange ANG at Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten (CBCS).
