Fleet Shortlist: Sinotruk, Shacman Trucks and Semi Trailers
Most fleet orders don't go wrong on the truck. They go wrong on the pairing.
You know the drill — the tractor unit gets picked, the quote looks fine, and then someone asks whether the trailer kingpin and fifth wheel actually line up. Two minutes of questions now beats six weeks of waiting later.
Here's a working shortlist we keep coming back to at Luen Auto, built around what fleets in Africa, South America and the Middle East actually run. 🚛
Long-haul and container work — Sinotruk tractor trucks: HOWO A7 6×4 371HP, HOWO TX 6×4 420HP or 480HP, HOWO NX 6×4 400HP. Behind them, a flatbed semi trailer for 40–60 t of steel, pipes or timber, or a skeleton container semi trailer for 20ft, 40ft and 45ft ISO boxes up to 65 t.
Mining and construction — Sinotruk dump trucks run HOWO A7, TX and NX 6×4 through 8×4, 16–40 t rated payload, 14–30 m³ boxes. Shacman dump trucks cover X3000 6×4 and 8×4 at 20–40 t. Prefer to tow the load instead? A 3- or 4-axle dump semi trailer takes 30–60 t in a 20–40 m³ U-shape or rectangular box.
Moving machines — lowbed semi trailers carry 40–100 t, deck height 450–600 mm, fixed or detachable gooseneck. That low deck is what lets an excavator drive on by itself.
Liquids, powders and gas — fuel tank trailers from 20,000 to 50,000 L in up to 6 compartments, powder tank trailers at 32–60 m³ with pneumatic discharge, and CNG tube trailers with 8, 10, 12 or 20 tubes at 20–25 MPa.
City runs — HOWO light duty trucks, 4×2, 130–180 HP, 5–10 t payload, for the sites a full-size tipper can't reach.
Shacman tractor trucks slot in alongside those: X3000 6×4 380 or 420HP, H3000 6×4 385 or 430HP, F3000 6×4 375HP, and L3000 4×2 340HP for medium duty.
One thing worth flagging before you inquire: fifth wheel height, kingpin size (2-inch or 3.5-inch) and GCW all have to line up between tractor and trailer. On a HOWO A7, fifth wheel height sits around 1,200–1,400 mm.
We build factory-direct with full customization — trailer type, dimensions, axle configuration, suspension, paint, your branding — and OEM production is available too. So when the spec changes, you're not switching suppliers.
Tell us three things and you'll get a configuration back instead of a catalogue: the payload you need to move, the road conditions, and the cargo type.
If you've already ordered a combo, which spec do you wish you'd locked down before signing?
