’s 2000 Honda Civic EK Hatch keeps the classic lightweight Honda formula alive with a K20 swap, custom fabrication by , and a Garrett GBC35-700 matched with a 0.82 A/R T3 turbine housing.

For a build this clean, the turbo choice still has to make sense. The Garrett Boost Club Line (GBC) series gives builders a cost-effective way into real Garrett performance, with pricing around the $1,000 USD range depending on configuration, without gambling on a no-name turbo or overspending on more turbo than the setup requires.

Even on a highly detailed, no-expense-spared build like this K-swapped EK, the GBC35-700 does not feel out of place. It brings the Garrett name, modern aero, journal bearing durability, and up to 700 horsepower capability to street, drag, drift, and project car builds that need a capable turbo with trusted engineering behind it. 🏁🚗💨

🚗:
🔧:

✅ Cost-effective entry into Garrett turbocharger performance
✅ GBC35-700 58mm supports 400–700 horsepower applications
✅ Journal bearing rotating group with 360-degree thrust bearing
✅ Billet compressor wheel with extended tip design for higher pressure ratios

Abu Azouz Al-Harabi’s Y60 Nissan Patrol is built for charging hard up the dunes with massive tires, a 6.0L LS2 V8, twin Garrett turbos, and around 900+ horsepower on tap.

Dune racing is brutal on a turbo setup - engine is under heavy load, tires are digging through sand, and the truck needs the kind of boost response and sustained airflow that can keep pulling when the climb gets steep.

That’s also where we recommend the G-Series line of turbos, which feature Mar-M alloy turbine wheels and stainless steel turbine housings rated for up to 1050°C / 1922°F, helping support extreme exhaust temperatures in high-output applications. 🏁🚙🔥💨

🚙 Owner: Abu Azouz Al-Harabi
🎥 Video:

✅ Mar-M alloy turbine wheel helps support extreme exhaust temperatures up to 1050°C / 1922°F
✅ Stainless steel turbine housings provide added durability and temperature resistance under high-load conditions
✅ New G-Series turbine aero improves exhaust flow and boost response
✅ 15–20% more turbine flow vs. GTX helps support more power potential from the same frame-size concept
✅ Up to 74% peak turbine efficiency helps convert exhaust energy into boost more effectively
✅ Standard and reverse rotation options allow cleaner, more efficient twin-turbo packaging

’s ’89 Nissan 240SX hatch brings old-school S-chassis style together with a NEO VVL SR setup, using a Garrett G25-660 to produce 513whp and 440 lb-ft of torque.

The NEO VVL was Nissan’s variable valve lift and timing system found on select SR engines like the SR20VE and SR16VE. Originally seen in Japanese-market FWD platforms, these VE/VVL heads are often adapted to SR20DET-based RWD builds, bringing high-RPM breathing and modern SR character, which is a good pairing for G-Series turbos like the G25-660 that was spec'd out on this S13.

The Garrett G25-660 is engineered for 350–660 horsepower applications from 1.4L to 3.0L, making it a strong match for high-output 4-cylinder builds that need airflow without sacrificing response. With G-Series compressor aerodynamics, a 54mm compressor wheel, up to 79% compressor efficiency, and new turbine aero for increased flow and efficiency, this setup shows exactly why the G25-660 is such a proven option for responsive, compact-frame power. 🏁🚗💨

Bruno Massel just added another Wally to the collection — and this one is special.

At his home NHRA event, four-time Comp world champ drove his turbocharged Chevy Cobalt to the Competition Eliminator win, taking down Jeremy Bailey in the final with a 6.979 @ 197.08 mph after overcoming Bailey’s perfect .000 reaction time.

The win also earned Bruno a one-year-only NHRA 75th Anniversary “Diamond Wally” trophy, a special version of drag racing’s most iconic trophy awarded during NHRA’s milestone 75th anniversary season.

Last year, Bruno ran a pair of Garrett G30-770 (G-Series) on the 2JZ, however for this year he made the switch to the Garrett G-XRace GXR47-80. With the G-XRace, it made 1,512 rear-wheel horsepower at 55 psi on his 3.0L 2JZ, with more still available. Bruno notes the car has already run in the 6.60s at close to 210 mph, with the new GXR package giving the team the potential to chase even more power and dip into the 6.40 range at 212–215 mph in ideal conditions. 🏁🚗💨

🚗:

✅ G-XRace has XBoost technology which increases power and performance. This turbocharger is rated up to 1800 horsepower
✅ Increased efficiency at high flow rates provides cooler, denser air to boost power capability
✅ Lightweight aluminum backplate to reduce turbo weight
✅ Flange-style speed sensor port for easy installation and turbo speed monitoring for optimal performance and turbo life

Adriana Noonen and the camp took home 1st place in XWorld at in the Civic, powered by a Garrett G-XRace turbocharger.

Last year, Adriana put this car in the winner’s circle at 2 of 3 events, and she’s back this year with the same consistency — running 8.11 @ 179 mph and 8.21 @ 180 mph before driving it to the win this weekend with an 8.40 @ 176 mph in brutal Georgia heat. That kind of consistency under tough track and weather conditions is exactly why racers continue to choose Garrett G-XRace turbos for high-pressure, high-output drag racing applications. We look forward to following Adrianna this year, and are exciting seeing her putting this Civic back in the winner's circle again this year 🏁🚗💨

The G-Series carries that same mid-frame performance concept forward with newer aero, improved efficiency, and more flow potential for builders chasing even more power. 🏁🚗🔥💨

🚗:

✅ Proven GTX Gen II performance in a high-abuse drift application
✅ G35-900 is the modern G-Series equivalent
✅ New G-Series turbine aero provides higher flow and efficiency
✅ Mar-M alloy turbine wheels on G-Series turbos are rated for up to 1050°C, built for heat, boost, and durability
✅ Standard and reverse rotation Supercore configurations available
