A building with history — reimagined for the future.

Originally constructed in 1923, the LH residential building in Varna has been transformed into a vibrant contemporary residence while preserving the character and spirit of the original architecture. Instead of demolishing the old structure, the architects at STARH chose to build upon it and thereby keeping the historic facade and integrating it into a new five-storey design. The new extension of the original two-story building is clad with three types of Swisspearl panels that are perfectly matched to the tone of the plaster adding an elegant transition between the two structures.

The result is a beautiful example of how thoughtful renovation can connect past and present while giving buildings a new life for future generations.

Near the Vienna Woods, the VinziRast am Land project transformed a former hotel into a sustainable community for unhoused people.

Built with reclaimed materials and solar energy solutions, the project brings together housing, gardens, shared spaces, and community collaboration. Swisspearl proudly supported the project with solar mounting systems and technical know-how.

One small design change 👉 Big energy savings 💡

At Swisspearl’s factory in Finland, a simple adjustment to the exhaust piping system is helping reduce energy consumption and lower natural gas use significantly.

By reusing waste heat to preheat combustion air, the team initially estimated annual natural gas savings of around 10% — but the results are now looking even better.

A great example of how practical engineering solutions can support a more sustainable future.

Old materials. New life. A smarter way to build.

In the Swiss village of Grüsch, an old mill has been transformed into modern housing with sustainability at the core.

Instead of discarding the old silo tower, its concrete was fully recycled and reused in the new building. Around 60% of the concrete in the new tower comes from recycled material recovered onsite.

Clad entirely with Swisspearl's photovoltaic solar panels, the project combines circular construction with renewable energy solutions.

Designed by Stephan Hürlemann, Swisspearl’s BAU 2025 exhibition booth was created with sustainability at its core.

Built modularly for full disassembly, reuse, and future adaptability, the booth demonstrates how smart design choices can reduce waste while creating inspiring spaces for people to meet, work, and connect.
