Ticino has officially asked residents to reduce water consumption, and washing vehicles is on the list of non-essential uses to avoid.

The situation is serious. Rainfall has been in deficit since October 2025, and the local water networks are already under pressure.

When drinking water is limited, washing a car with a traditional hose is not exactly the priority.

That is one of the reasons we offer waterless mobile car care in Lugano and Geneva.

We taped a line down the middle of our work car and applied something new to half the hood.

NPC 2.0 - a hydrophobic coating we’ve been curious about for a while. The idea is simple: water slides off on its own. No wind, no driving, just physics.

This isn’t a service yet. Day one of an experiment. We test on ourselves first because that’s how we do things - if we wouldn’t put it on our own car, we’re not putting it on yours.

Alcantara steering wheels age badly. Anyone who owns one knows this.

Sweat, oils from your hands, friction - over time the suede gets matted down, shiny, and worn. It looks like the « before » photo for way too long before anyone does something about it.

The tricky part with Alcantara: you can’t just scrub it. Wrong product, wrong pressure, and you’re replacing a steering wheel instead of restoring it. It needs the right cleaner, the right technique, and patience.

We’ve done enough of these now that it’s second nature. Clean, lift the fibers back up, restore the original texture. The result is that matte, fresh Alcantara feel - like the car just left the showroom.

Your steering wheel shouldn’t be the first thing that makes the car feel old.
