When Plan A fails… There’s a Plan B…
•
2017 Dodge Grand Caravan needed the passenger front CV axle replaced. For having 205,000kms on the vehicle, it proved to be a little stubborn to remove. So did the driver side.
Eventually did succeed in replacing both including the passenger side jack shaft and bearing.

The Subcompact M12 Brushless 1/4” Impact Driver from can definitely hold its own. Especially when paired up with a 6.0ah Red Lithium battery.
Very impressed with this tool over the last several months of use.
•
Ford F250 wheels torqued to 160ft-lbs while using an adapter and 21mm impact socket with a fully charged 6.0ah red lithium battery on the impact driver.
Removal of the other three wheels was achieved as well.

2008 Ford Expedition 5.4L came in with a complaint of “lack of power and can’t go above 70km/hr”.
Test driving confirmed the complaint and I immediately knew the problem. Live data and scanning from the Autel - North America scanner provided further proof of my diagnosis.
•
Once back in the shop, I undid the exhaust system and scoped it with the borescope camera, it confirmed I was right, bank 1 converter was clogged up and I removed the bank 2 converter completely to find it clogged as well due to failing internally, just as I suspected.
•
When this happens, it chokes up the exhaust system flow and causes extreme cases of back pressure onto the engine along with causing oxygen sensor issues due to the lack of flow.
Robbing the engine of power and causing all sorts of issues.
•
Old converters were removed and I welded in a set of high flow converters and did another test drive, everything was back to normal.

Have rough running diesel? It’s more than likely a clogged throttle body and EGR. If they’re bad enough, they’ll start clogging up into the intake plenum.

2008 Ford Ranger 3L came in, dead on arrival with a complaint of “it just shut down on me while driving”.
•
Attempts to manually cycle the engine over failed, including with the spark plugs removed. A quick inspection with a borescope told the tail immediately, as my suspicions were correct (and mostly confirmed when I pulled the damaged spark plug).
•
This truck will require a replacement engine. A rebuild would be far too costly for the price of a simple used engine swap.

2015 Jeep Cherokee 3.6L with a seized engine which was the result of another shop disabling the cooling system fans instead of correcting another issue.
•
This led to an overheat situation which locked the engine up. It should easily turn over by hand, especially with the spark plugs removed.
