east of Winnipeg. As a child, Keith's father supplied him with A.T.V.s, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles and shared with him his knowledge and enjoyment of riding such machines. He raced dirt bikes and snowmobiles for years. As he grew bigger, so did his toys and ideas. At 14 he tackled the project of completely restoring a '55 Chevy Bel-Air. He put it in Autorama (World of Wheels) at the Convention Ce
ntre and won first place with it. As an adult, Keith continued to race snowmobiles and help restore many friends' vehicles. His love of cars is quite apparent by the quality workmanship put into every job. When it was time for Keith to get a job, the automotive industry was the place for him. He worked at the local G.M. dealership in Beausejour for five years, moved to Winnipeg and worked at Midas for a year, then on to Speedy Muffler. It was during this time that upper mgmt. recognized his leadership and customer service skills and promoted him to manager. He was given a shop to run and did so well that they sent him to a different, failing location, only to see it flourish. After ten years, he thought it was time to try it on his own. Keith and a partner opened up Benders Brake & Muffler in East Kildonan and found that a large number of customers had followed him from Speedy. After eight years with a partner, he decided to branch out on his own. Extreme is everything he ever hoped for. Big, bright bays for the mechanics to work in. Projects on the go all the time. There is such pride in everything they do. They are a full service automotive centre with state of the art equipment and access to some of the best performance parts available. Keith is currently residing in Transcona with his wife. He is passing on his love of everything with a motor to his children and you can bet that there will be another generation of Relfs in the automotive industry. At present, his daughter is a stay at home mom for her four children, a girl and three boys. They say they are going to work at Extreme one day. His son runs the office. If you call Extreme Performance, he will be the one answering the phone and all of your questions. He races a dirt car at the Speedway and enjoys boating and riding his snowmobile in the mountains in the winter.
