Before you replace it, take another look at the casing.

A quality commercial tire may have more life left in it. Retreading can put a serviceable casing back to work and help your fleet get more value from every tire.

This is where the new tread becomes one with the tire.

Each casing gets sealed in an envelope, hooked to a vacuum line, and placed in a curing chamber for two hours, where 257°F heat and 86 PSI of pressure lock the tread in place.

From there, the tires rest for 24 hours to cool down before they receive their final inspections. 👀

There's more than one way to put new tread on a casing, and West End Tire uses two.

Ringtread applies the tread as one continuous ring with no splice, which makes for an even, uniform finish all the way around.

The Continental system wraps a pre-cured tread strip around the casing and joins it with a splice, and comes in a wide range of tread patterns to match different jobs.

The right method depends on the tire, how it's used, and the tread pattern it needs.
