As we close the shop for the last time today, I want to thank-you for the lifetime of memories I'll be taking with me with family, customers, friends and associates.

Summer of '73.

Rudy's Auto Service would operate here throughout the 1970's until my Mom and Dad made the decision in 1980 to move the business across the street to our current location at 807 Erin Street, becoming one of the largest and busiest independent auto repair shops in the city.

Moving forward, I have already had many folks ask me what Auto Repair Centre(s) I would recommend they visit for future vehicle maintenance.

Over the next week, I'll post different shops in different parts of the city that I have had longstanding friendships and business relations with. I admire all of them for their ethics toward customers and their well established and maintained shops. Like Rudy's Auto Service, they too are certified Auto Value Repair Centres.

We are particularly grateful to our parts Supplier Piston Ring for giving us exceptional service for decades. We could not have offered our services as efficiently without them.

With the permanent closing of Rudy's Auto Service at the end of next week, I'd like to share some of our history with you:

This is one of the earliest photos of our very first shop my Mom and Dad opened in September 1969. The building was located at 808 Erin Street, across from our current location.

More than a century ago, this building was used as a livery stable for the Hudson's Bay Company. The sign was actually handmade by my grandfather, and the business operated here until 1973 when a larger, second building was constructed beside it on the same lot.
