Lithium-Ion Reduced Cost:

Soon, there will be refurbished Li packs with 70 to 85% life left (700 to 850 empty to full cycles or about 4 to 6 years life expectancy before replacement) with like-new performance for about half the cost of a new Li battery pack.

Your 100-year-old SLA technology is cheap to buy, but operates at full operating performance for about 25 to 30% of the full charge and then when the charge is below the system Voltage (36, 48 or 60V system?), operates at a noticeably reduced performance for the last 70% of the charge.

Li has a BMS (Battery Management System) computer inside the pack of hundreds of AA-size Li cells, which causes all of them to charge up equally and then discharge (power your bike) equally, from full charge to empty. Quite a different riding experience.

Over all of these 13 years, I've never had a rider go back to SLA batteries, after experiencing Li.

The only part that held most back from upgrading to Li technology was the much higher new pack price.
That price issue is being corrected by refurbishing and repurposing individual Li cells for use in your eScooter and other applications at prices much closer to SLA costs, with much more to offer, including twice the life of new SLAs and the same supplier warranty on the refurbished packs as for new batteries.
