Pumpkin Racing 2025
Thanks to Cortney at the DOI and Richard from ULLR for hosting the Third Annual Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater Classic. What a turnout!
We had an awesome time for the third year in a row and we'll definitely be back next year with another monstrosity. The entries this year were fantastic. Nice work, everyone! Congrats to Chicken Jockey for a solid win in the races and Pink Pony Club for a well-deserved Best-Dressed prize.
We entered "Pumpranha", although "Piranhakin" would have been the obvious, far better alliteration. Sorry.
It only took about 7 weeks, including the engineering and mechanical inspections. Sarah did the great carving job, Chris made the fish. A big thanks to all the ichthyologists in the crowd for being cool and not pointing out the egregious physical anomalies in these fish. Let me just point out that in Pirahha (1978), the fish were a military bioengineering experiment, so maybe they didn't NEED them, smartguy, and in Piranha II: The Spawning (1982), the fish could literally fly.
Even though our pumpkin's head fell off (three times), I walked away with a sweet mask for halloween. It's easily the third creepiest mask I own.
Sorry we smashed into you, SteamPumpkin. Same to you, PP Dingus. We tried to will Pumpranha in another direction but to no avail. Clearly, Pumpranha was simply born to kill.
Thank you for awarding us best crash. We tried really hard?
Wait, no! I've got a good one. We really... lost our head! Eh? AmIright? Because the head fell off our pumpkin.
We'll show ourselves out.
