Depending on where the damage is and how serious it is, some punctures can be safely repaired. In those cases, repairing the tire may be a better option than replacing it.

Volkswagen is testing just how far aero efficiency can go with its new Mission Efficiency concept.
The near-production electric car recently covered 1,278 km on a journey from Germany to Austria, using just 6.89 kWh per 100 km. Even including charging losses, it averaged only 7.51 kWh per 100 km.
The big part of the story is aerodynamics. The car has a very slippery shape, covered rear wheels, a flat underbody and active cooling vents. Volkswagen also says the car uses technology that could influence future production EVs.

What if the secret to getting drivers to slow down is actually giving them more green lights?

Some US cities are testing a traffic strategy called “rest in red.” Instead of timing lights to encourage drivers to speed up and catch a string of greens, the lights stay red until traffic approaches.

Drive at the speed limit and the light is timed to turn green. Speed, and you are more likely to arrive at a red light and have to stop.

Early results are interesting. In Portland, average speeds on one test road dropped from 39 mph to 30 mph. A North Carolina trial also reported a 43% reduction in crashes.
Turns out, maybe the best way to get people to slow down is to make speeding annoying.

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is finally getting the camper version many people wanted from the start.

The ID California Cruise turns the electric van into a small home on wheels with a bed, folding table, two chairs, blackout window coverings and a special camping mode. That mode can run the lights, power and climate control while parked, with VW claiming up to 48 hours of continuous heating or cooling on a full battery.

There is also a clever electrochromic glass roof that changes from clear to opaque at the touch of a button.

The first version is headed to Germany, but VW plans a US version for 2027 with a bed.
