Weekend well spent with the Volvo XC90 Plug-in Hybrid.

Two days, two very different adventures.
Sunday was all about the trails at Mount Work Regional Park, mountain biking with friends, my dog riding shotgun to the trailhead, and the perfect excuse to load up the bikes and head into the hills.

Monday slowed things down with a family trip to Cowichan. We spent the day floating the Cowichan River, and on the drive home made the mandatory stop at Drifters for ice cream before stretching our legs with a visit to the Kinsol Trestle.

Over the course of the weekend, the XC90 covered 287.8 km, averaging just 6.1 L/100 km. Even better, it started the weekend with a single overnight charge, letting us take advantage of the plug-in hybrid system before seamlessly switching over for the longer drives.

We think that’s worth a smile.

Initiative has taken over 50 years of research from real-world accidents, and made it available for everybody.
