When Mar-K closed down earlier this year, it left a massive gap in the industry. They were not just a North American supplier; they also sold high-quality products.
This loss of a major supplier prompted me to consider what I could do to fill the gap they left. Over the last few months, I have been working to develop a made-in-Canada solution to replace their angle and bed strip lines. The goal was simple: create products that were at least as good as Mar-K, if not better. I am pleased to announce that we have achieved our goal!
Our strips are made using heavier 18-gauge material, similar to Mak-K, which provides a more robust part than the 20-gauge used by some offshore manufacturers. This is where the similarities end. Instead of using 430 series stainless, which does not contain nickel, we decided to upgrade to a 304 series material for its additional resistance to the elements. The other area we improved on was in the shape of our angle strips, by removing the unsightly bead on the top edge, where it attaches to the bedside. Instead, we went with a straight leg, like factory angles, for a cleaner look.
The strips are available in either a galvaneal coated steel or polished stainless steel, with hole patterns for most stock applications. For custom project, we can provide length and hole patterns to suit you needs, or supply lengths in 80, 98, and 122" long pieces. When Mar-K closed down earlier this year, it left a significant gap in the industry. This loss of a major supplier prompted me to explore options for filling the void they left. Over the past few months, I have been dedicated to developing a made-in-Canada solution to replace their angle and bed strip lines. Our goal was straightforward: to create products that match or exceed the quality of Mar-K. I am pleased to announce that we have achieved this goal!
