Fuel system ✅ Exhaust ✅ Electrical ❌ Baby steps for now, tough to find time. Ran out of it to get the ECM tuned and immobilizer deleted. Maybe next week sometime. Another solid day and I’ll be able to fire. Stay tuned!

Its just nuts and bolts! Working on the swap this am, gave myself 2hrs (7-9am).. Pulled the rear axle beam and the exhaust to get to the fuel tank. So far so good! Just want to get rid of this shell, it’s back together and ready to roll out. Fuel system is one of the last things I needed to scavenge from it, but will keep it until the other car is a daily.

Tempted to bolt the TDi in but.. I think some preventive maintenance is a good idea. Timing belt kit and tidying up the engine bay is in order. Plus have to drop the 2.slow catalytic converter out. Super easy swap so far. 😎

Well here we go again. This time VW! Found a crashed 2005 VW Golf TDI at salvage that I was thinking I could get back on the road. But a heavy hit to the right front made it actually non repairable. So I did the “right” thing, bought another Golf with a blown engine gas engine. But of course it’s a gasser. So time to swappy swappy! Should be straightforward? 😆🥴👨‍🔧

Hard to believe I was in the middle of this swap about a year ago. But the F350 is serving it’s purpose. Got me to work in the snow during the winter months and hauled some river rocks last week. Honestly it sits more than it’s used total KM on swap is right around 1500km so far. However, just did a 700km round trip in it and it handled as expected. Hot Hot day and climbed the infamous Coquihalla “Highway Through Hell” with ease. Already first oil change in the books. Couple things need attention like alignment and AC low still but I can live with it! Happy trails! 😇👨‍🔧 .3 #7.3

Time to take it away.. Scavenged and sold off as many bits as I could. Not much left of the e99 Ford F250. So off to the scrapper it goes…

Back at it… I’m trying to slow my customer cars through my shop, but here we are! 😆 Ford Fusion w a stuck ebrake cable. Plus a Quick oil change and off it goes. Brakes were healthy otherwise!

End of the project? Kind of I guess. About 6 months of work on and off on weekends and evenings and I’ve put about 200km on it so far. Everything feels good, no clunks or rattles. And it was just in time for some snow on the west coast and a first fill up too.I will probably have some paint and body work done in the spring to brighten her up. I call her Goldie Hawn! 👍😎👍

Well this was my week and wiring is my nightmare! After pinning out the harness and bypass this and that I finally succumbed and pulled the body wiring harness from the donor truck which was the only one I had not swapped over. I then plugged it into the truck from under the dash and BOOM everything came to life!. I was having issues blowing large 20 Amp fuse and gauges weren’t working on the dash among other things. I finished off the grille and headlights and took it for a quick spin. I’m happy to say the least. Different year trucks even though same model for the most part sometimes had the same harnesses yet wires in plugs in different locations. There was no point in pinning it out completely as it would’ve taken a lot longer. I couldn’t believe it! I had the whole interior out on Tuesday and reassembled Wednesday and driving it on Thursday!

Mazda Protégé is all wrapped up. Failed yesterday for a leaky rear wheel brake cylinder. So I replaced both left and right sides. Noticed a lot of newish parts including shocks & brakes underneath. So up on the block it goes!

Nice clean reliable transportation.

A lot of new parts and low KM.
Rebuilt from a minor fender bender. Fully repaired and inspected for the road!

A day of winter wheel/tire change over. Three sets plus a rear brake job. I’m tired now! 😢🤷🏼‍♂️
