Recent pre purchase inspection of a 2008 ford escape for a returning customer.

Extreme corrosion to the body and exhaust system.

Also there were many issues with the steering and suspension.

Needless to say the customer was happy to pass on this one.

If you are in the market for a used vehicle , please do not hesitate to reach out.

This customer had an ongoing issue with the brakes .

Previous mechanic replaced abs sensor etc but problem still persisted.

We removed the cv joint from the hub to find an abs ring with a crack. This was sending a bad/wrong signal.

New ring installed and customer is over the moon 👍

Alot of people are under the impression that buying from a used car dealership is safer than buying private. That may be the case 50% of the time in my experience .

Remember the dealership is trying to make as much profit as possible , after all it is a business.

We found this "rust repair " on a recent inspection.
Dealership had hammered out the rust on this sill (and the other side), filled it with newspaper, smoothed over it with body filler and painted it to match the rest of the vehicle.

Needless to say we passed on it.

Following on from the last post

Heres what can happen if a balljoint fails , driveshaft popped out and spider bearings damaged.

New lower control arm as bushings were worn and a new cv axle got this customers employees back at work the next day 👍.

Came across this little surprise on a pre purchase inspection a few days ago . The seller had the balljoints replaced over a year ago and previous mechanic forgot one cotter pin .

Extremely lucky to have caught this for the buyer as this could have had a very nasty outcome on the highway .

Customer noticed grinding from the rear, upon inspection the old rotors were found to be so corroded that they were rubbing on the calipers.

Customer opted for a new set of rear brakes and rotors so we got them back on the road again👍
