Another view of the original building.

The original building at the corner of Essendene and Gladys.
This building was originally a livery stable before being converted to an automotive repair shop. This site was purchased by Peter and Mary Siemens in 1954. The name Hub Motors was chosen because Abbotsford was "The Hub of the Fraser Valley".

Summer is coming and we know that means vacation and travel time.

We want you to enjoy it with your friends and family so please remember to think about your vehicle’s seasonal maintenance requirements. While most people know about winterizing their car, many people don't realize their car has special summer needs too. Here are a few things to check as you set out on your travels:

• Check all your fluid levels.

• Good spark plugs and a clean air filter add up to better gas mileage.

• Check your tires for wear and alignment and make certain they have equal pressure. This will help you stop quickly without sliding in emergency situations. It will also give you better gas mileage.

• Get your brakes checked. The time spent getting them inspected may save your life later!

• Check your cooling system. Make certain your radiator isn't clogged, and all the hoses and belts in your engine are working properly.

• Ensure all head restraints are properly adjusted (here is some information on what that should look like: https://goo.gl/uAYrr2)

• Fuel up: distances between service stations on rural highways can be considerable.

• Be prepared for trouble. Make certain you have a good spare tire, tire changing tools, an extra bottle of water for your radiator and a flashlight.

• After a rest stop and at the beginning of each travel day, always walk around your vehicle and check for anything unusual before you resume your trip.

Is it time to have your suspension checked?

Bad suspension can greatly affect the ability to control your vehicle and reduce the ability to grip the road while cornering or braking, which is a big safety issue. It’s in your best interest not to ignore this part of maintenance. A few common signs that your suspensions needs repairing are: pulling to one side while driving, feeling every bump on the road, one corner of your car sitting low, or difficulty steering.

A vehicles suspension system is what’s responsible for smoothing out the ride and keeping the car in control, as well as providing steering stability and good handling. The suspension system also gives comfort by limiting the impact of bumps on the road for the car and the passengers.

We offer a “lifetime” guarantee on brake linings, suspension parts, steering components and mufflers for as long as you own your vehicle. (Conditions may apply, contact us for details.)

Stop by Hub Motors for service you can trust.
