THE SLIVER | LIVING BEYOND THE WALLS
For The Sliver, the design didn't stop at the exterior walls, it started there.
The outdoor spaces were planned alongside the house from the beginning, extending the same sequence of movement, gathering and pause into the landscape.
A sheltered cooking area sits directly outside the kitchen, complete with a sitting bar and kitchen garden. Just beyond, the timber pergola creates a separate place to gather and dine, positioned to preserve views from inside while capturing the softer afternoon and evening light.
From there, a series of terraces follows the natural grade toward quieter places to sit, gather around the fire and eventually move toward the water while an intimate owners garden is tucked around the side of the home.
Rather than one large patio, the landscape becomes a collection of connected outdoor rooms. Each has its own purpose, but together they create a larger living environment, only part of which happens to be enclosed.
