🏁 TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE RACE WEEKEND — BTB EXECUTIVE EDITION 🏁
’Twas the night before race weekend, and all through BTB,
The Exec were still working… because apparently sleep is free. 😂
The track had been groomed, every corner and jump,
While someone yelled, “MORE WATER!” and fired up the pump.
The plaques had been ordered, the classes checked twice,
And someone was praying that registration would play nice.
The transponders were charging, lined up in a row,
While messages kept coming…
**“What class should I go?”**
**“Can I still register?”**
**“Can I add one more?”**
**“What time do the gates open?”**
*(It’s in the post. We swear. 😂)*
The gas cans were filled and the equipment checked,
The groomer kept moving while the track crew looked wrecked.
Materials were ordered — hopefully enough,
Because maintaining a racetrack takes a ridiculous amount of stuff.
Food vendors organized, safety staff too,
Flaggers and scoring and a thousand things to do.
Schedules were written, social posts made,
Questions were answered and plans rearranged.
Someone checked registration, then checked it again,
Someone answered Messenger at 10:47 PM.
And somewhere in the middle of all of this mess,
Someone inevitably said…
**“WHY DO WE DO THIS TO OURSELVES?!”** 😂
Then Friday afternoon comes and the gates are cranked wide,
The trailers roll in with the bikes packed inside.
The generators hum as the pits come alive,
And suddenly we remember exactly **why.**
We started with our own kids — that much is true,
To watch them chase something they absolutely love to do.
To watch them hit gates, chase goals and take flight,
To live their best lives from morning ’til night.
But somewhere along the way, something pretty cool grew…
Because we started watching and cheering for your kids too. ❤️
We learn all their numbers, we watch as they grow,
We know who’s been chasing that jump they won’t throw.
We see first-race nerves and that finish-line grin,
The kid who falls down, dusts off and jumps back in.
We see when they move up, get faster and brave,
And the little ones watching, dreaming of gates.
Some call BTB home, some come from afar,
But once they hit our gate, we know who they are.
We see moms nervous faces and dads covered in dirt,
Grandparents at fences in their favourite rider’s shirt.
Brothers and sisters cheering all day,
And families making memories in their own dusty way.
..And THAT is why we do it — the chaos, the grind,
The endless little jobs that somehow multiply.
The equipment gets fixed when the workday is through,
Plaques ordered, transponders charged — there’s always more to do.
Registration gets sorted, the track gets groomed,
And somehow another group chat message goes **BOOM.** 😂
We give up our evenings, our weekends and sleep,
Because this little dirt track means more than dirt heaps.
And when that gate drops and those engines all roar,
It reminds us exactly what we’re doing it for.
Because yes, we’re proud when our own kids come through…
But BTB, make no mistake — we’re damn proud of yours too. ❤️
So tonight as you’re packing your gear by the door,
There’s a tired little crew at BTB doing just a bit more.
'Twas the night before race weekend, the work nearly through…
Good luck to our BTB rippers —
and every damn ripper coming to race with us too. 🏁❤️
ROUNDS 7 & 8 LETS GO!!!
Now get some sleep.
**Tomorrow, we drop gates. 🤘**
