As the school year kicks off this week, let’s prioritize the safety of young students by following these crucial guidelines when encountering school buses:

>> COMPLY WITH SCHOOL ZONE SPEED LIMITS. Slow down and adhere to posted speed limits.

>> COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHEN RED LIGHTS ARE FLASHING. When driving on a road WITHOUT a median, traffic coming from both directions must come to a complete stop.

>> REMAIN CAUTIOUS AND VIGILANT on roads WITH a median. Traffic coming from the opposite direction with a median do not need to stop for a school bus.

>> WHEN APPROACHING A STOPPED BUS, STOP AT A SAFE DISTANCE to allow children to board or exit the bus and cross the road safely.
