Thunder Bay, you did it! Our Kids Count has reached their $2.7 million goal for the Building Blocks Capital Campaign! 🎉

A huge thank you to every donor, volunteer, and business who made this possible. We're especially proud of our own Daniel Trevisanutto, Partner at Half-Way Motors and Chair of Our Kids Count, who has worked tirelessly alongside the OKC team, community partners, and donors to bring this incredible milestone to life.

At the Half-Way Motors VIP event in May we gave away 3 major prizes, one of them being A Night On The Town. We just got word back from our contest winner Lexie and she sent us some photos of her free night out with her 3 friends! ⭐️

First, the Sales Manager at Half-Way Motors Mazda, Vicky, picked them up in a luxurious 2026 CX-90 to bring them to their first destination, the Caribou. It looks like the gentleman volunteered to climb into the 3rd row for the ride, and he looks totally comfortable with lots of room!

They enjoyed some apps including the Bee Sting pizza with smoked pepperoni, soppressata and hot honey. 🍕For mains they chose the haddock special served on a bed of puréed cauliflower and vegetables, as well as the steak special, and the Tuna Tataki with crispy rice and cucumber sesame salad. 🥒They even enjoyed some desserts - the famous Crème Framboise with caramel and raspberries served on warm sweet custard and the Bananas Foster with the crunchy caramel shell. Thank you to the wonderful team at Caribou for taking care of our guests! 👨‍🍳

After dinner, Vicky rolled up in the CX-90 to take them to their next stop for cocktails: Pocket Change! 🍸 The group tried a variety of cocktails including the classic Gin Gin Mule, the new Yuzu Soju Sour, Baby Turtle, a round or two of the Green Tea shot, and a few of the other Japanese inspired cocktails. They were all delicious, unique and fun to share so everyone could taste each one. Thanks to Pocket Change for great service!

Lexie said they all had a great time out and it was arguably “the best night out ever!” 🎉

We are SO glad to hear you had a wonderful time on the town on us👏 We can’t wait to have our VIP event next year and see who the next lucky winners will be!

Last night Half-Way Motors had our annual staff appreciation party and we had SO much to celebrate! 🎉 We got everybody together in the Half-Way Motors family from Nissan, Mazda, BRP and CARSTAR to enjoy some food, drinks, good company and a lot of recognition for their hard work.

Kevin Mandryk was recognized for his superior leadership, quality of work, and 40 years of service at Half-Way Motors as a Body Technician🤩 Yes, 40 YEARS! John, Patrick and Daniel expressed their appreciation and respect for his service here and presented him with special gifts as a token of thanks. This is a milestone you really don’t hear about too often and we are blown away. Kevin always shows up and works hard day in and day out, providing top-notch quality bodyman services for our customers. We can’t thank you enough, Kevin!

We also had the opportunity to celebrate a few more important milestones. These folks have stuck with us, they continue learning, growing and moving up, and we truly value the contributions they have made.

We have a diverse team with many different talents and skills and it does not go unnoticed. Our team takes care of our customers, our customers take care of our business, and our business gets to give back through our choice charity Our Kids Count, local sports teams, fundraisers, and sponsoring community hubs like Thunder City Speedway, and much more.
