August can feel like the camping season is coming to an end since it’s the last month of summer. Compared to July the mornings are colder, the days are shorter and the thought of going back to school is looming on the horizon. We’re here to tell you that August is the BEST month to go camping! The cool mornings and evenings are a nice contrast to the warm afternoons. While July can be extremely hot with no relief, August gives us cool mornings to take our dogs for walks or enjoy a nice cup of steaming hot coffee next to a fog covered lake. Speaking of which, the sun has been heating up the lakes for a good 30 days by the time August comes around so the water is usually quite a bit warmer, especially in smaller lakes. The plants and trees have now had a chance to fruit and flower, making nature walks much more scenic as the vegetation attracts wildlife of all sorts.
The next time you think to yourself “the camping season is halfway through”, remember that the best days of this year’s season are still yet to come.🌳🍂
