A (Niagara resident) friend of Anna, is seriously ill and desperately needs a liver transplant. Her doctors have advised that she needs a living liver donor as soon as possible. We are hoping that by sharing her story with our community, we can reach someone who may be willing to come forward and give her the chance she so desperately needs.
Behind this medical situation is a loving wife and mother, a best friend, and a much-loved member of her family. She has a husband who loves her dearly and a son who needs his mom. They are facing something no family should ever have to face, and right now, time is incredibly important.
Becoming a living donor is a deeply personal decision, and we understand that it is not something everyone can consider. However, if you or someone you know may be interested in learning more, even simply having a conversation with the transplant team could make an enormous difference. The medical team will determine whether someone is a suitable donor, and potential donors can receive confidential information about the process and what is involved.
We are asking for two things from our community:
