With the holidays wrapping up and the winter setting in, we thought we'd share some good practices for the winter time to keep your rig running smoothly.
1. Check your batteries and terminals!
Cold weather hurts cranking capabilities and the last thing you need is a truck that doesn't start. Ensuring your batteries are in good working order will save you a headache.
2. Carry a fuel additive!
Keeping your fuel tanks full will prevent condensation and prevent fuel lines from freezing up. Fuel additives with anti gel proprieties will prevent fuel from gelling.
3. Check your air system and air lines
Use airline anti freeze sparingly. Make sure to check your gladhands and hoses to ensure they aren't brittle and leaking.
4. Use winter type fluids and wiper blades
Winter washer fluid rated for the cold paired with a good set of wiper blades will make sure you can always see no matter the conditions Southern Alberta throws at you!
