Update for all my clients travelling
We are reaching out today with an update on our operations resulting from the severe rain and hailstorm in Calgary on Monday evening. After a comprehensive safety assessment, WestJet teams have determined that 16 aircraft require repair and inspections before they can be returned to service.
With these aircraft removed from service we unfortunately have a corresponding decrease in capacity, inevitably resulting in cancellations across our network.
“All of us at WestJet, are incredibly disappointed to be disrupting the travel plans of our valued guests again this summer, and greatly appreciate your patience and understanding over the coming days as we weather the impact following this significant storm,” said Diederik Pen, WestJet Group, President of WestJet and Group Chief Operating Officer.
We encourage those with upcoming travel plans to check their flight status prior to travel and our guest updates page for the most recent information. Guests with impacted flights will be notified via email and provided with online self-serve options, which can be actioned through manage trips. Our Contact Centre is currently experiencing extremely high call volumes, so we ask that you only call us if you are travelling within the next 72 hours and are unable to self-serve.
