Did you know that your EV needs preventative maintenance? Yes even EV's need TLC and in some cases in ways you didn't imagine.
You should be aware of the following:
Special tires to prevent road noise and they have reduced rolling resistance for better mileage. The extra battery weight seems to be causing a low mileage wear out on some EV's. No spare tire to save weight so inspections are very important. The TPMS system needs special attention.
Special brake pads because although lining lasts a lot longer the pads suffer "rust jacking" where rust will push the lining off the backing. Yearly you need to clean and lubricate the calipers.
Fluid changes to battery coolant, brake fluid, electric motor gear box oil need yearly inspection/replacing.
Cabin air filters and Battery air intake filters need regular maintenance.
Your 12 volt battery needs service/checking for the newer vehicles that have 12 volt battery as an integral part of the HV battery.
Air Conditioning needs servicing just like the gasoline engine vehicles and special attention to the ac oil as the wrong oil usually requires the entire replacement of the ac system and many electrical components. AC desiccant needs yearly changing on some vehicles. Unlike gasoline vehicles you can't do without your AC working on some models of EV because it also cools the HV battery and a non functional AC will cause an extremely rapid High Voltage battery failure.
Inspections must be done yearly to suspension/steering as the extra battery weight causes premature wear. The weight causes premature wear on wheel bearings also. The most popular EV's have poor longevity on Suspension, Steering, brakes and wheel bearings.
Something as mundane as wiper blades need the correct design for aerodynamics.
Regular service/inspections will let your EV give you the mileage you deserve and many years of service.
