Two updates for you: First Ford is recalling F150 pickups for a possible steering/suspension problem. Go online and Type in F150 recalls. It will ask for your vehicle identification number input. Vin is on door id plate and at base of windshield drivers side. The second is that GM is requiring 0w40 dexos1 Gen 3 oil be used in all 2019 to 2025 Chevrolet/GMC pickups with 6.2 liter V8 engines. You must use 0w40 oil to keep your warranty in effect. Mobil 1 Supercar oil is the only oil that meets this specification at the time of this post.

Just so you know.

Canada's loss to Denmark is directly tied to Yannick Hansen showing the Danes that they could play against NHL players and win.

Did you know that your EV needs preventative maintenance? Yes even EV's need TLC and in some cases in ways you didn't imagine.
You should be aware of the following:
Special tires to prevent road noise and they have reduced rolling resistance for better mileage. The extra battery weight seems to be causing a low mileage wear out on some EV's. No spare tire to save weight so inspections are very important. The TPMS system needs special attention.
Special brake pads because although lining lasts a lot longer the pads suffer "rust jacking" where rust will push the lining off the backing. Yearly you need to clean and lubricate the calipers.
Fluid changes to battery coolant, brake fluid, electric motor gear box oil need yearly inspection/replacing.
Cabin air filters and Battery air intake filters need regular maintenance.
Your 12 volt battery needs service/checking for the newer vehicles that have 12 volt battery as an integral part of the HV battery.
Air Conditioning needs servicing just like the gasoline engine vehicles and special attention to the ac oil as the wrong oil usually requires the entire replacement of the ac system and many electrical components. AC desiccant needs yearly changing on some vehicles. Unlike gasoline vehicles you can't do without your AC working on some models of EV because it also cools the HV battery and a non functional AC will cause an extremely rapid High Voltage battery failure.
Inspections must be done yearly to suspension/steering as the extra battery weight causes premature wear. The weight causes premature wear on wheel bearings also. The most popular EV's have poor longevity on Suspension, Steering, brakes and wheel bearings.
Something as mundane as wiper blades need the correct design for aerodynamics.
Regular service/inspections will let your EV give you the mileage you deserve and many years of service.

Did you know that your GDI engine needs yearly intake cleaning? Here are reasons for this. GDI engines give us more power, better mileage and lower emissions but they have one flaw. They build up carbon at a phenomenal rate. When first brought on the market it was believed that intake cleaning would no longer be required. This was incorrect. Crankcase gases were drawn into the intake by the PCV (Vanos for Euro vehicles) and hit the back of red hot intake valve which instantly carbons up valves. Because there is no longer gasoline flowing over the valves they do not clean and will carbon up extremely rapidly. Some manufacturers have added a separate intake injector to help with this problem and one has gone to a complete set of extra injectors to eliminate this problem. These solutions very in the amount cleaned. GM is so concerned about the buildup that their newer vehicle manuals specify chemical cleaning every 10,000 KM or once a year. They can specify this because there has been a new chemical/process developed that actually works to clean these carboned valves with out doing a manual de-carbon process that could include removal of cylinder head. You can not just dump something into the fuel tank to correct the carbon condition because the fuel does not touch the back side of valves. We can tell you if you have a vehicle with extra injectors or not. We of course provide the proper chemical/clean service to de-carbon valves. Restore smooth idle, better mileage, lower emissions and more power with the proper chemical/clean method. The system we use is one of the only 2 systems proven effective in cleaning these carbon deposits.

How is your AC working? Nice and cool I hope. If not we have the solution.

Summer is almost upon us. Dry spring and hot dry summer is the forecast. Time to make sure the Air conditioning and cooling systems are up to s***f. A check of belts, hoses is in order. When was the last time your transmission/transaxle was serviced? Tires OK for the summer vacation? Wipers and washers working well?
Those iron bugs are hard to get off the windshield!
For those who have EVs or Hybrids did you know that your drive train includes cooling systems and possibly lubricating/cooling oil that needs periodic changing. Due to regenerative braking the conventional brake system has a tendency to seize up because of lack of use. This type of brake systems require periodic maintenance to clean and lubricate sliding surfaces. The tires and suspension need inspections. These things can wear sooner than you are used to because EVs and Hybrids are heavier which could lead to wear out sooner than anticipated.
i hope you all have a safe enjoyable summer.
