Little tip for you guys wanting to get into the trade.

Don’t make it complicated - stay off the tool trucks until your setup at a good shop and have reliable work.

Buying tools is only half the game, learning the trade is the real challenge. Spend personal time to study the type of equipment you’re working on and the jobs you’re doing…. It will take you a long way.

The biggest difference between automotive shops and a truck and transport or equipment shop.

In technical terms both industries are essentially the same, but from a customer standpoint they are completely different.

On the truck and equipment side we find that the pressure to perform is amplified, almost all businesses are affected by transport, from construction,shipping,garbage removal,medical industry. Basically everyone needs trucks and equipment to stay operating to keep the world spinning.
Also replacing a piece of equipment is more difficult that replacing a consumer car.

On the automotive side of things the pressure comes a bit different. It’s personal, people depend on their vehicles in order to live their lives, while there is other ways of transport it becomes much more difficult to manage personal life without a reliable vehicle. Even more so if you have a family.
