The biggest differences come down to tread design and rubber compound.

❄️ Winter tires use a softer rubber compound designed to stay flexible in cold temperatures. That flexibility helps the tire maintain grip when the road is cold, snowy or icy. Their tread also has more biting edges, sipes and deeper channels to help move snow and slush away from the tire.

🌦️ All-weather tires are designed to handle a wider range of conditions year-round. Their rubber compound balances cold-weather performance with the durability needed for warmer temperatures. The tread still provides winter traction, but it is designed to perform across multiple seasons rather than being optimized specifically for severe winter conditions.

If you spend a lot of time driving through snow, ice and consistently cold conditions, dedicated winter tires may give you the extra traction you need. If you prefer one set of tires year-round, all-weather tires can be a practical option.

Not sure what makes sense for your vehicle and driving habits? Stop by your local Tirecraft and talk to a tire expert!

Cooler temperatures in the morning can lower the air pressure inside your tires, which is why that warning light often makes its seasonal comeback in the fall.
Check all four tires when they’re cold and inflate them to the pressure recommended for your vehicle. If one tire keeps losing pressure, have it inspected. A slow leak may be the real culprit.

‼️STETTLER BUSINESSES BEWARE‼️
We just had a fraudster in at Trail Tire. After “ordering tires” the total was entered into the credit card terminal and handed to him. The terminal came back with an approved amount that was $2000 over the entered amount. He then asked for a refund. We insisted on calling Moneris and he started getting agitated. While on the phone with them I noticed the approved slip said it was a manual entry and the last 4 digits were different than the card he tried to give me for a refund. Lane stayed up front and I went back in the office to call the police. He got quite agitated and left. He’s white, about 6 ft tall, brown short hair, ball cap, glasses, and plaid coat. His accomplice was driving a black Ford Explorer blacked out.
