Another successful operation completed by our dive team, with valuable assistance from our trusted associates.

In the late fall of 2025, Bailey’s Marine Service Ltd. was awarded the task of refloating a grounded fishing vessel near the tip of the Great Northern Peninsula and relocating her to a safe beaching site.

To protect the surrounding environment, a containment boom was deployed around the vessel, and precautionary measures were taken to minimize the risk of contamination throughout the operation.

The seine was removed to reduce weight and eliminate hazards to our divers. A detailed hull survey identified damage below the waterline, which our dive team successfully patched prior to pumping out the vessel and refloating her.

Once refloated, a licensed waste management contractor removed all hydrocarbons. Additional heavy items were then offloaded before the vessel was towed to a nearby cove, where she was safely hauled ashore for final disposal.

We extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated dive team and all associates who contributed to this operation, including Northern Peninsula Enterprises (Chad Spence), Hilliers Equipment Rentals, Tripp Marine Construction, Pardys Waste Management, and the Canadian Coast Guard.

Wishing our valued employees, clients and friends a safe and Merry Christmas season !
