In this episode, we remove the original numbers-matching engine from this 1960 Jaguar XK150. Before the engine could come out, we had to tackle one of the most dreaded jobs on any Jaguar XK engine: freeing a cylinder head seized to its studs after decades of sitting.

The engine extraction proved even more challenging thanks to the length of the XK engine and the steering rack arrangement unique to the late XK150 models.

With the engine finally on the stand, the next phase begins: rebuilding the engine block, restoring the cylinder head, and evaluating the gearbox after 54 years of inactivity.

Follow along as we bring this remarkable Jaguar back to life, one step at a time.

This year we’re bringing our strongest lineup yet to the VanDusen All British Field Meet. A freshly completed 1964 Jaguar E-Type in stunning Gunmetal over deep red, alongside a historically significant 1961 AC Ace Bristol originally owned by an RCAF pilot. Could this finally be the year we take home the trophy?

Gerry Hauck, the original owner of this rare 1960 AC Ace is reunited with his car at the 2026 VanDuesen All British Field Meet (ABFM) alongside its current caretaker Johnathan Parker. Powered by the legendary Weller inline-6 and fitted with a rare lightweight factory gearbox, this AC Ace is more than a classic car, it’s a lifetime of memories.

Before the crowds arrived, the gates opened and the classics began rolling into the 2026 VanDusen All British Field Meet (ABFM) in Vancouver. Austins, Minis, Aston Martins, Jaguars, a sports racing Riley, a Bugeye Sprite, and even a Commer camper van slowly making their way onto the field in the morning light.

After sitting untouched for 54 years, this 1960 Jaguar XK150 finally gets its first proper wash. Decades of dirt, dust, and a raccoon nest are stripped away to reveal what’s hiding underneath, including surviving original paint.

05/09/2026

What started as removing an old raccoon nest from this abandoned Jaguar XK150 turned into uncovering shocking damage: missing parts, hacked metalwork, and clues to a very rough engine removal. Now the real restoration begins.

05/07/2026

Today we tackle one of the worst parts of this 54-year-abandoned 1960 Jaguar XK150: the raccoon nest.

Buried under a mountain of shredded cardboard, foam seat insulation, and debris, the entire interior had become a wildlife habitat. As we carefully clean everything out, we begin uncovering long-lost original parts, including the missing shifter hidden deep inside the mess.

What started as a disaster slowly turns back into a car.

This Jaguar Hasn’t Moved Since 1972… Until Today. With the wheels freed up and turning again, we carefully load it onto the tow truck for the first journey it’s made in over half a century. For the first time in 54 years, this original-paint Jaguar sees direct sunlight again.

05/02/2026

After 54 years sitting untouched, this 1960 Jaguar XK150 is finally back in the light. Original paint, straight body, no rust, no accident damage… but there’s one problem: a raccoon made itself at home and destroyed part of the interior.
