Built to handle Canadian weather at its most unpredictable. 🍁 ⛈️ 🌡️

Unlike all-season tires (or what we like to call 3-seasons), all-weather tires are designed to handle rain, snow, and the temperature swings in between. So as the temperature starts to dip below 7°C, it's a good time to check your tires and make the swap if needed.

7°C: it's the number that tells you it's time.

Once temperatures start to consistently drop below 7°C, your summer and all-season tires start to lose grip.

That's because the rubber compound designed for warmer roads begins to stiffen and lose effectiveness. On the other hand, winter and all-weather tires use a softer compound that stays flexible at lower temperatures, improving your grip and stopping distance.

Keep an eye on the long-term forecast and plan ahead. 📆 Book your tire changeover appointment now: https://www.kaltire.com/en/tire-change/

The Third Annual Shuswap Christmas Car Giveaway is coming back to town!

Once again local sponsors Kal Tire, Braby Motors, Fix Auto Collison, and SASCU Financial Group are looking for the community to help them gift a vehicle and gifts to a family in the region.

“Tell us how a family you know of could really have their lives positively impacted if they had a reliable refurbished vehicle,” said Derick Miller, General Manager of Fix Auto Salmon Arm.

Last Christmas Billie Jean and her two children were the appreciative recipients, providing them reliable transportation back and forth to Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, with room for Frankie’s wheelchair. The Lees family received the first Christmas Car Giveaway in 2018. Turning around some unfortunate events, the gift of a Caravan gave Tom Lee the transportation he needed to complete his apprenticeship training and support his growing family.

“Help us make Christmas brighter for a family that needs a boost up,” said Sheri Greeno, Marketing Manager of SASCU Financial Group.

Stories of 400 words or less nominating a Shuswap-based family can be submitted by November 30 to [email protected].

“This has been an extraordinary year so far,” said Dan Burt, Manager of Kal Tire, Salmon Arm. “We know there are families that are facing particular challenges where this gift could really make a difference.”
“The community we have here is amazing,” exclaimed Justin Braby, Sales Manager at Braby Motors. “Let’s do this together.”
