20 year old tech.

In 2004, Michael Schumacher's Schuberth RF 1.5 helmet was a prototype made of multi-layered carbon fiber. It was so strong that they rolled a tank over it, and it stayed intact.
The helmet cost around $20,000 at the time.

The Vespa 150 TAP was an 'anti-tank' scooter made in the 1950s from a Vespa scooter for use with French paratroops (troupes aéroportées, TAP). Introduced in 1956 and updated in 1959. Modifications from the civilian Vespa included a reinforced frame and a 75 mm (3.0 in) recoilless rifle mounted to the scooter (obvs). 👇

As the extended riding season winds down (for most of us), the 2022 Motorcycle Course season can be summed by the following:

Never in the field of Motorcycle training has so MUCH (💥 damage) been inflicted by so MANY (🏍 riders 🛵) to so FEW (cones 🚧).

Once orange in nature, the cones obviously physically paled when faced with their mortality.
It was all in the name of a worthy 🪪 cause. The cones endure.

If you know of a rider who may have inflicted such callous, wanton damage on a cone, feel free to rat 🐀them out in the comments. Your cooperation in this atrocity is appreciated.

MSQ is now administering the SNB written tests on site.

Riders must provide a photocopy of the Blue Certificate signifying completion of an approved training course.

MSQ is opening this to graduates of ANY approved course.

Hope all are staying safe during the current crisis. I’m using my riding gear as PPE. A little awkward negotiating self isolation in full leathers and full face helmet. Makes for getting to the head of the grocery store and other store queues a bit quicker. Dark visor can be a bother.

To the purpose of this post.

Late this afternoon I received word from Parks and Recreation that I’d have to rearrange the training course schedule. The rink is closed.
In keeping with the provincial guidelines (and your safety) they are looking at the the third week of May before the Charles Gorman Arena will be available for motorcycle training. Fairest thing to do is move all courses 3 weeks further into summer. Once courses do get underway, I’ll be adding weekday courses for those riders who can be available. Should help clear backlog.

On a positive note, one of “missing” CBR Hondas was recovered this Spring. Refurbished, it will rejoin the course complete with its “ I’m not stolen “ rattle (spray)can red paint job.

Wash your hands and respect social distancing. We’ll get through this sooner if you do.
