We are busier than ever and require a Licensed Autobody Technician to join our highly skilled restoration team. Classic Automobile Restoration Inc. specializes in complete restorations of classic cars and trucks. Candidates must have very strong skills and a desire to produce high quality work. We are happy to be starting a restoration of a 1968 Cutlass Convertible, that the owner has been working on for many years. He is hoping to finish this beautiful car for his wife to be used as a daily driver. We recieved the vehicle off frame with a trailer full of parts including two engines. We will be working to restore the body and frame as well as updating the brakes and rebuilding the engine and mechanicals. We will also be restoring the interior! Stay tuned......

The 63 Camaro continues to be stripped of its paint. We discovered a very poorly done repair on the drivers side quarter that is almost an inch deep and more than an inch wide. The weld was filled with fiberglass filler and bondo. We also began the process of metal filing the imperfections on the rear quarter. This process removes many of the smaller imperfections and leaves the larger dents as obvious black areas. These are either pulled or are hammered out to minimize the amount of filler required.

The Miata race car is close to final paint. We applied etch primer on exposed metal followed by three coats of primer. Next step is to block sand. By using a block we are able to see slight imperfections in the metal, which are then filled and sanded and the process repeats until the finish is perfectly smooth and ready for the base coat. Wait until you see the colour the owner has chosen!

The 1973 Camaro project continues!!!! We found some significant rust damage at the bottom of each B-Pillar and a very poorly repaired right quarter. The new quarter was laid over a roughly cut original sheet metal and grazed on the top. The repair shop then added a thick layer of filler to hide the repair and brought the filler over the whole panel to smooth the look. They did not finish the trunk correctly either so items can fall out of the trunk to the ground or road dirt can come off the rear wheels directly into the trunk. Our client is looking to restore this vehicle correctly so we will be able to show you the repairs as they are completed.
